As a producer, you have to handle a lot of different things. On the one hand, you have to produce new music as fast as possible and on the other hand, you have to build your brand and market your music. Sometimes it's hard to handle all of that. That's the point where you start trying to be as productive as possible. To get even more productive, I want to give you my favorite tips to increase your productivity with 87%!
Table of Contents
1 - Organize
Organizing a project and your pc are vital if you want to be as productive as possible. Keeping everything organized, including your PC folders, will not just help you to be more productive but also bring you a faster, more efficient workflow. For your projects, make sure you build a nice folder structure with all the different projects and samples. This is not just great for productivity but it can also be helpful if you want to make a backup of all your files. When having all files organized, you will know where this one sample is that you're looking for. This will help you to stay in a faster and more creative workflow.

2 - Wake Up Early
Of course, this can be hard and I think everyone knows that. But it's super worth it! You will have a lot of things done super early in the day. After some time you will start enjoying it. And besides all that, this will help you to train your willpower. Which again will help you to get more disciplined.
3 - Work Out
Don't forget to work out. For me, working out helps to get the focus again and it feels like it resets my mind. Besides that, it's of course super important to keep an eye on your health when sitting in front of your PC most of the time. So get a little sport you can do in between. Some examples are running, cycling, or just some workouts on YouTube. They are great and free!
4 - No Multitasking
Quit multitasking! If you start doing multitasking, you might think that you're way more productive and get results faster. But that's not the thing that's happening. It may look like it, but what actually happens is that you do everything just 43% as good as you would do it without multitasking. If you think you need multitasking, you probably should quit some things. Do one thing after another and not at the same time! Put your focus on one thing at a time. This is called deep work:
Deep work is the ability to focus without distraction on a cognitively demanding task. It's a skill that allows you to quickly master complicated information and produce better results in less time. Deep work will make you better at what you do and provide the sense of true fulfillment that comes from craftsmanship. In short, deep work is like a super power in our increasingly competitive twenty-first century economy. And yet, most people have lost the ability to go deep-spending their days instead in a frantic blur of e-mail and social media, not even realizing there's a better way.

5 - Plan
For me, this is the number on the tip! Get a calendar app of your choice and start structuring your day. I know this sounds easy but for me, it gives me the feeling of safety that I don't forget anything. It's also awesome to see all the things you've done over the day in the evening.
6 - Distractions
Make sure you use a "Do Not Disturb" mode while producing or any other work stuff. You probably experienced that work focus before. Every time I'm in that focus and receive a notification from my phone I get disturbed and I lose focus. Since I use the do not disturb function, I can finish things way faster.
By the way, a little side tip for iPhone users (probably also works for android but not sure). Apple just recently introduced its Focus modes feature. You can create your own "Do Not Disturb" modes. For example, if you work with a singer and you just want to receive notifications from them, you can enable that. This works in a lot of different combinations and all apps.
7 - Mental Health
The last thing I want to mention after all these tips is that you have to make sure your mental health stays in good shape! More about that in another blog post in the coming weeks! :)
